Product Description Everyone that regularly plays the horses is in constant pursuit of the player's holy grail: the humongous longshot. Many of the authors from the first 2001 edition of Bet With The Best have gathered together again to contribute their expertise on where and when these high-priced horses can be found. By using various successful and proven handicapping theories and angles, the reader learns how to uncover live horses that regularly return boxcar prices while most of the racing public still remains in the dark.

Really enjoyed this one April 16, 2008 The Cobra (Southern California) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
Pick this one up. You'll enjoy the read and be able to add some things to look for in your handicapping. The book obviously covers 'longshots'. Each author (quite a few from the DRF team) has an individual chapter and they each have a specific category that they write about when looking for a live longshot (examples: pedigree, foreign shippers, cutbacks in distance, etc.).
Bet With the Best 2: Longshots June 9, 2008 Randall Glover (Satellite Beach, FL United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am only about halfway through this book and have already spotted several new tips. More importantly, in reading Crist's chapter on Exotics and Value I stumbled on some big leaks in my multi-race betting.
Well worth the money.

This book is very interesting about how to bet and all the parameters. If you are interested in horse racing, this is an interesting book.
Good read for horseplayers June 13, 2008 Diane Shear (Sierra Madre, Calif. USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Book offers a good update on the first book....Bet With The Best.
Jim Quinn, as always offers good tips.
They talk about changes and variations August 21, 2009 Klinsmann (Kowloon Hong Kong) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book does not give me any surprise. The authors talk about changes and variations on the track such as Eurpoean import, new track materials, trainer's approaches etc. It is true that only these changes and variations can give us edge (if we investigate and analyse them) on horse betting now as the races are becoming more and more competitive and horse handicappers are also becoming more and more skillful. I therefore only give a three star rating to this book. It is OK but not impressive.
