Product Description
Taking care of a racehorse involves many facets - from keeping the horse happy to recognizing any signs of lameness to knowing how to muck a stall. Author T.A. Landers, a former master groom turned trainer, breaks down all aspects of racehorse care in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner that will leave the reader with more confidence in handling these magnificent animals. Professional Care of the Racehorse provides photographs and detailed explanations of grooming, feeding, restraining, tacking, and handling racehorses. 5 out of 5 stars A bible of horse info   April 26, 2006
D. Donovan, Editor/Sr. Reviewer (California, USA)
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

Any owning or racing a horse will quickly come to consider PROFESSIONAL CARE OF THE RACEHORSE a 'Bible' of information - or will have to learn the same information the harder way, through the school of hard knocks. From grooming and basic training to understanding injuries and basic care of the feet, here under one cover is everything you need to know to keep your racehorse in top performing condition. Black and white photos and diagrams throughout add illustration wherever needed. A 'must' reference for racehorse owners.

5 out of 5 stars Very Good   November 9, 2008

This book would be well worth a trainer buying for his grooms, hotwalkers, ect. Alot of information that needs to be learned before one even touches a horse. This is a great book.
